IMKAN Properties, an Abu Dhabi-based real estate developer, has established itself as a prominent player with a portfolio encompassing 26 projects across three continents. The former CEO of IMKAN, Walid El Hindi, projected the delivery of over 121,000 commercial and residential units by the end of 2021. In 2019, the master developer reported an impressive 300% increase in sales year-on-year, maintaining a robust performance ever since. El Hindi emphasized the company’s focus on strategic marketing, leveraging word of mouth and cultivating customer satisfaction to foster ambassadorship.
IMKAN’s current and planned projects command a total investment exceeding AED 100 billion (USD 27 billion), as disclosed by the former CEO. Among the latest additions to IMKAN’s real estate portfolio is SHA Emirates, a collaboration with the European health facility SHA Wellness Clinic. Expected to open in 2023, this clinic, the third of its kind globally, follows the success of establishments in Spain and Mexico. Situated along the seaside nature reserve Sahel Al Emarat within the AlJurf community, SHA Emirates spans a substantial 1.3 million sq ft, with a project value of AED 600 million (USD 163 million).
IMKAN is currently engaged in various multi-use and residential projects across Abu Dhabi. Notable developments include The-Artery, a hybrid parking structure and event space, and Pixel, the first multi-purpose community in Makers District. Luxury premium villa communities like Nudra and ALJurf, as well as the development of Sheikha Fatima Park, further showcase IMKAN’s diverse portfolio.
One highly anticipated project is Pixel in Makers District, featuring seven towers with 525 residential units. Construction began in 2019, with a simultaneous build strategy to ensure a peaceful living environment for new homeowners. The estimated completion for Pixel is Q4 2021, with a starting price of AED 618K for a one-bedroom apartment.
AlJurf, situated between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, is another significant project by IMKAN. It encompasses two marinas, a town center, hotels, a wellness resort, a museum, and serviced villas. The first phase, with 292 residential units and plots, is expected to be completed in Q2 2023. Villas in AlJurf start at AED 3.7M and come with a range of amenities such as public and private beaches, restaurants, mosques, and a private school.
Nudra, an exclusive villa development on Saadiyat Island, comprises 37 residences with customizable layouts. Divided into The Dunes, The Beach, and The Shores, the villas offer various sizes ranging from 6,533 sq ft to 30,483 sq ft. The development includes amenities like an infinity pool, kids playground, tennis courts, a clubhouse, and gyms. Construction is expected to be completed in 2021, with villas starting at AED 8.4M.
IMKAN’s Makers District, designed in partnership with MVRDV, is a multi-purpose development aimed at attracting entrepreneurs, creatives, and innovators to Abu Dhabi. The community includes a waterfront hotel, F&B venues, co-working spaces, and residential developments totaling 3,700 units.
Alburouj, located in Al Shorouk City, Cairo, is a residential compound featuring a smart village with administrative buildings, a medical center, and international schools. Additionally, the master plan includes a global shopping mall spanning 236,000 sqft. The residential units, including apartments, duplexes, townhouses, villas, and twin villas, are sold fully furnished.
