All About Queen Elizabeth II’s Burial Site and Its Significance
Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away last week at the age of 96, will be buried at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel, one of the late Queen’s favorite residences and the location of many royal funerals before her. The Queen’s coffin will be transported to Windsor Castle, located about 20 miles outside of Central London, after her funeral on September 19 at Westminster Abbey. The Queen will be interred there, continuing a long tradition of interments there that includes 10 former monarchs.
